Day trip: North Rügen with chalk cliffs
(2026: 3.4. + 14.6. + 29.6)
The bus trip starts directly at the Hafenhotel zu Putbus. The first stop is the port of Sassnitz in the north of the island. Here you have the option to take a beautiful boat trip along the chalk cliffs (Kreidefelsen) and the striking Königsstuhl for an extra charge of approximately €20 per person.
In the afternoon, the journey continues through the Jasmund National Park to the northernmost point of Rügen, Cape Arkona (Kap Arkona), whose famous lighthouses can be seen from afar. The final stop of the day tour is the idyllic and historic fishing village of Vitt.

Excursion to the Mönchgut peninsula
(2026: 5.4. + 16.6. + 1.7.)
Start your day with the Rügen resort railway “Rasender Roland” (Rügenschen Bäderbahn „Rasender Roland”). This steam-powered narrow-gauge railway offers picturesque views of towns and landscapes along the route between Putbus, Binz, and Göhren. Binz is the most famous and largest of the seaside resorts on Rügen and is situated on one of Germany’s most beautiful bays. A short guided tour of the town and free time are planned here.
Afterwards, you will get to know the Baltic Sea resort of Sellin with its famous pier (Selliner Seebrücke) and the beautiful old villas in the style of seaside resort architecture. The Sellin Pier, a popular photo motif, is one of the most famous sights on the island of Rügen (Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel Rügen). Since 1998, it has housed a café and restaurant in the pier building. Later on, the Mönchgut peninsula is on the day’s agenda.

Störtebeker Festspiele
Look forward to the 31st season of the Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek on Rügen! Under the exciting title “Freibeuter der Meere” (Buccaneers of the Seas), you can once again immerse yourself in the thrilling world of the legendary pirate Klaus Störtebeker starting June 28th, 2025.
Accompany the famous pirate on a fascinating journey and experience his latest adventures up close. Captivating storylines, breathtaking scenery, and spectacular effects ensure unforgettable theatrical moments and plenty of excitement.
Performances run from Monday to Saturday, starting at 8:00 pm on the natural stage in Ralswiek, until September 13th, 2025.
The eagle show “Könige der Lüfte” (Kings of the Skies) by the Walter falconry will also take place again in 2024. Starting at 6:00 pm, you can experience the spectacular flight maneuvers of birds of prey (eagles, falcons, and buzzards) up close.

Cabaret Regatta Rügen Putbus
Since 1997, Putbus on the island of Rügen has attracted talented cabaret newcomers to the far northeast. These artists perform in the former residential town of Putbus (Residenzstadt Putbus) and ignite a month-long cabaret fireworks display that makes the audience laugh. The event series, known as the Rügen Cabaret Regatta, has already attracted renowned cabarets such as Berlin’s “Distel,” Leipzig’s “Pfeffermühle,” and Düsseldorf’s “Kom(m)ödchen.”
The regatta of fine humor, initiated by the Förderverein Theater Putbus (Friends of the Putbus Theatre), has already welcomed guests such as Katja Ebstein, Uwe Steimle, Eckart von Hirschhausen, Kurt Krömer, Dieter Hildebrandt, and Gisela Oechelhaeuser.
